The Balearic Islands Film Commission is part of the Institute for Language and Culture of the Balearic Islands (ILLENC), an organization created by the Government of the Balearic Islands for the promotion of the language and culture of the Balearic Islands.
The Institute for Language and Culture of the Balearic Islands (ILLENC), through the Illes Balears Film Commission, intends to consolidate the audiovisual sector of the Balearic Islands as a strategic cultural industry and encourage its production and its projection overseas, as well as promoting the Balearic territory as an attractive location for film production.

Currently, in the Balearic Islands there are three professional associations in the audiovisual sector, created with the aim of representing and defending the professional, labor, economic, social and cultural interests of its members.
APAIB Association of Producers of the Balearic Islands - brings together the producers of Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza and Formentera. It has more than 35 companies of the sector associated: documentaries, fiction, TV and animation producers and service companies of the islands. Since 2015, with the support of the Illes Balears Film Commission, the internationalization program was launched to spread the creative talent of the islands. The nominations for the Goya 2016 awards for "La isla bonita" and "I am your father", both co-produced by some of the APAIB partners, endorse the talent and ability to create quality content.
ACIB Association of Filmmakers of the Balearic Islands - association that brings together the directors and creators of the Balearic Islands. Any person who has directed or scripted an audiovisual work and who has been born or currently resides in the Balearic Islands can be part of ACIB. The association has more than 50 members.
The BASE Film and Photo Association - association that integrates companies that work in the audiovisual production services industry, as a local link for foreign and national producers of advertising, film and advertising photography. Represents and defends the professional interests of companies in the sector before public and private bodies and entities.
